The Sellaronda Skimarathon celebrates its 30th edition, counting on 1,100 participants divided into 550 teams from 16 nations scattered around the globe, to perform the exhausting lap with so-called "sealskins sealskins" around the Sella Dolomite atoll. This year the race will be held on Friday, March 22, starting in Canazei in Val di Fassa, continuing on to Selva di Val Gardena, Corvara, Arabba and ending at the starting point. The particularity of this race, leaving aside the fact that it is one of the few races in Italy of ski mountaineering, is the starting time, set just before sunset, namely 18:00. For this reason, among the pair materials
mandatory is precisely the headlamp, which must be functioning and attached to the helmet, which is also mandatory.
The passage of the competitors was calculated around 19:55 in Campolongo Pass locality, between 20:10 and 22:30 at the Bec de Roces, while the passage to Arabba will take place between 20:15 and 22:40, with closing of the passage for the last at 22:35. In the crossing of Arabba is the skins change point, before continuing the ascent to the Pordoi Pass along the Pordoi slope to Pont de Vauz, then climbing the Junction 2 and the Maria to the top of the Pordoi Pass, calculated between 20:35 and 00:10 hours. Here, after the grueling climb of 10
kilometers, there will be one more skin change point before continue the descent to the finish in Canazei.
