UPDATE 9:30pm 09/03/2020

The Prime Minister's Office has issued a new ordinance with urgent nature. The ordinance extends the provisions foreseen by the ordinance on Sunday 08/03/2020. Teherefore all ski areas in Italy, as well as the lifts of Arabba-Marmolada and Dolomiti Superski, will already be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10th, 2020.

Following the situation that has arisen in Italy in relation to the aggravation of the contagions from COVID-19 and in line with what was decided by Dolomiti Superski on the early closure of the plants, Arabba resort also decided to make a responsible choice and, with the Saturday 14 March, to consider the winter season over.
The ski-destination and its tour operators embrace without any hesitation the motivations that prompted the consortium of installers to make this difficult decision (tomorrow 10 March the last day of operation of the lifts), also in consideration of the rapid spread of the Coronavirus in the Italian territory and the potential risks of tourists, staff and local people in all the ski areas served by the lifts. Although Arabba is not in the so-called 'red areas', there is a need to preserve first of all the health and tranquility of those who live in these territories, those who work there and those who stay there. However, regret remains for an early closure after a season that has marked a considerable growth in turnout in the hotels of the Ladin valley of Fodom and in passes on the ski slopes of Arabba and Marmolada, but the emergency has imposed a prudent decision and protection of people. And in compliance with the instructions given by the authorities, Arabba operators are convinced that we must look ahead, determined not to resign ourselves until the moment when this emergency is over: in the next few days the programming of the summer season will begin which for Arabba means hiking, trekking and climbing in the Dolomites but also mountain biking and road cycling along the passes that made the history of the Giro d'Italia, thus relaunching the Fodom valley as a reference destination for lovers of outdoor sports.
