Pieve, in Ladin “la Plié da Fodom”, is the capital of the fodom valley municipality and the centre of religious and social life.
Pieve is mostly located around the church, which is dedicated a St. Giacomo. The village is crossed by the "Strada delle Dolomiti" (SS 48) completed in 1909, which allowed for the development of tourism and the improvement of the road network within the valley.
In the small square near the church, there is a bronze statue of Caterina Lanz, a Ladin heroine who, according to tradition, fought against Napoleon's soldiers to defend her country.
